Issue description
Detailed system info:
- Gentoo Linux, kernel 7.1.3-gentoo-dist-bin
- Wayland, Hyprland
- Renderer: Compatibility / OpenGL
- Intel UHD Graphics 630, kernel driver i915
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile, proprietary driver 580.173.02
- Mesa 26.2.4; also reproduced with 26.2.1
- Vulkan loader 1.4.350.0 Mesa is built with Intel OpenGL support but without the vulkan USE flag. The only installed Vulkan ICD manifest is nvidia_icd.json.
The Godot editor crashes during startup with an empty Compatibility project containing only project.godot. No scripts, scenes, plugins or GDExtensions are required. The crash reproduces on native Wayland. It also reproduces under Xvfb with Mesa software OpenGL rendering. The logs show the OpenGL renderer initializing on Intel, followed by Vulkan device discovery listing the NVIDIA GPU. Texture/render-target errors and shader compilation failures then occur, followed by a native crash reported as signal 11. Disabling Vulkan driver discovery for the Godot process only avoids the observed crash. This suggests an interaction with Vulkan initialization, but I have not established the underlying cause.
